  I just saw it a couple hours ago. I found it disappointing. There were no glaring problems, it was just too predictable and recycled. Well, the whole Kolarus III scene was stupid. Why would starfleet need a SUV like that when you have a perfectly good shuttlecraft that will go anywhere you need to go, at a much better speed. Dumb. Oh yeah, lets not worry about the natives seeing a bunch of aliens take off in a flying ship. Prime Directi-huh?

  They could have spent a little more time explaining how one guy goes from downtrodden slave to leader of the Romulan Empire. hmm.

  Then the long drawn out part where they first arrive at Romulus, the guy wants to chit-chat, wants Picard to like him, even his underlings are complaining, quit talking, let's just start fighting.

  Data. B4. good grief.

  Star Trek needs new writers badly.

  Initial Reactions-Assisting Inactive Program

  a tremendous push has been made to help the inactive in our cong.

  there is now an official list assigned to each book-study conductor which they must follow up on.

  to me the obvious intent is to jump start the inactive or to label them as bad apples.

  They politely listen and give the brush off. This tends to confuse the blood-hounds and effectively loses the whole thing in the middle.

  cardinal bernard law resigned over having abetted child molestation so ted jarasz should do the same.

  can you imagine if pedophile priests were sent door-to-door?

  yet jarasz and his band do the same with peds among jws, and jarasz himself is accused by pat garza of molesting her when he was in los angeles.. where are the "good" elders pointing this out to the flock to keep it clean?

  When will you figure out that just because one person accuses Ted of rape, does not prove anything. Nor does the fact that he does not deny it prove anything. Besides, how do you know he has not denied it?

  my mom had an accident about two weeks ago, fortunately she is ok. im living in my parents house now after my husband (yet again) threatened to "beat the crap out of me"---that story in another post some other time.

  needless to say, ever since she got out of the hospital the phone rings about 50 times a day, mostly calls from the "hermanos.

  " today a couple that i have known for about 15 years comes to visit, and their "discomfort" with my presence (i am da) is quite noticeable.

  Once again the bias on this board is raising its ugly head. If I am in my parents house, I would respect their wishes. I may not like it, I may feel it is unfair, but I am a guest and their child.

  If your mother wishes to meet with her guests privately, why would you insist on barging in?

  the british journal of hematology 2002 119 25-37 makes interesting reading in its article by judith marsh and david bevan entitled 'haematological care of jehovahs witnesses'.

  nothing new, but in view of what i heard recently from an jw acquaintance working in the hematology department of a local hospital it gave me some food for thought.

  the long article necessarily of a scientific nature and therefore without any noted bias makes this point regarding the alteration in policy by the wts toward those jws who take blood transfusions as a matter of choice: .

  Lee,

  You need to form your own Hospital Liason Committees. Prepare some kind of presentation that outlines how the HLCs are only there to intimidate JWs and keep them in line.

  Somehow their HLCs managed to get their foot in the doors as a legitimate entity. The medical community needs to get the real story.

  I have no idea where to start something like this, and I have little in the way of resources or medical knowledge, but I would be willing to learn or help.

  i dont agree with the rejecting passing of the bread and the wine... so what do you think i should do?

  Then there was this lady in another congregation, baptized perhaps in the 1970's, with emotional problems, etc. I was SHOCKED to see her drain half the wine glass one year.

  I think I know this poor person. I'll have to call or email you.

  We have one anointed brother at our hall. Gives one of the prayers at the Memorial. long drawn out thing.

  Actually, they started with 606, cause that whole "no zero year" had them stumped. Then Freddie waved his hands and it jumped to 607. But how they came up with it originally is a mystery to me too.

  I see I am not the only one considering this dilemma. When I went to the Memorial last year, I had decided it was going to be my last meeting. Well, that didn't happen. I really don't know how I am going to handle it this year. Then there is the District Convention. I may accompany my wife to the location, but I will not be wasting time at the convention itself.

  Does it really hurt to drag yourself to two or three meetings a month to keep peace with loved ones in the truth? No.

  Yes it does. I could not do it anymore. As Reuben pointed out, you are living a lie, and you are supporting a corrupt organization just by your passive attendance. You are not helping your family, you are helping to keep them in the dark. Just my 2c.
